They said, you don’t know English!
They said, you don’t know English?
Its funny-
Dinesh is still perplexed. Was that a question? Was that an ironic statement? He failed to understand what Chris meant by that.
Hearing this Sameer stood up and walked. The distance from Dinesh to Sameer was not too far. The spontaneous birth of Sameer and his traverse was inevitable. Between the crises of identity, Sameer has left Dinesh at the cross road, and walked far beyond, making the whole world laugh at him. Sameer is bold enough to face the world with his wrong English. He wins over every mind by entertaining with his intentional “wrong english”, where Dinesh failed to win with his “right english”. Reading Sammer’s writing, Dinesh too laughed along with the world. Dinesh, but I know somewhere away from the crowd you wept for the uncertainties of life…
That’s why I wrote, I like the certainties of past rather than uncertainties of future..its just nasty….
Dinesh…I doubt for any difference between you and me. Somewhere, we received the uncertainties of life, with the same tearful eyes. We have fallen from the peak of optimism to the trench of pessimism. But, I failed to release another Sameer to this world, with which I could laugh like you and make laugh the world around. Dinesh cannot leave Sameer, I cannot leave myself!
The pain in the heart of the clown and the truth behind the masks of characters are never realised. So let us laugh with the crowd, and cry in loneliness…
Dinesh, fighting the lost battles is not easy, which you and I are doing. The emptiness of life engulfs me, while I scribble this down for you,----no, for me. It is a question of existence for you, for me and all those who have lost their battles!...in the uncertainties of life…
It’s true, what Chandan Das say to the world-
"Apne gam bhi ke, kahi aur na jaya jaye
Ghar mein bikhri huyi cheezon ko sajaya jaye
“Kudkushi karne ki himmat nahi hoti sab mein
Aur kuch zindagi, auron ko sataya jaye….
Apne gam bhi ke, kahi aur na jaya jaye..."
Friends, stop laughing at Sameer. Each time you laugh at Sameer, you are laughing at the crying Dinesh. You are laughing at number of Dinesh-es of this world…..
Dinesh, let Sameer stop entertaining the world. You walk back to yourself, because you are not late for a fresh start from the crossroads. Let the world look at you and search for Sameer, indefinitely! ….and there you win.
Dinesh: Is a character that flew across the sea to build his dream, but stumbled upon uncertainties.
Sameer: One who took birth from Dinesh, during the turmoil of life.
Me: The character, one among the number of Dinesh-es and Sameer-s present in the world, who walks through his own path, gazing Dinesh-es and Sameer-s around.
Disclaimer: The literary characters- Dinesh & Sameer are fictitious, created to walk with me in the same space of this world, but through different paths, parallely, during my creations. Any resemblance to these characters to those living or dead is mere coincidence.
